Start and end this course at your convenience; there are no due dates. Our recommended pace is one module per week. Expect to spend around 6 hours playing, oh, we mean working 😉 on this course. 


COURSE OVERVIEW

Teachers will be able to explain what computer science and computational thinking are and describe how their sub-concepts can be applied to their classroom lessons. Participants will leave this training with the knowledge needed to share with others the importance of computer science education for all students.

This 4-module course is delivered through online and mailed materials. Participants are encouraged to work on the course collaboratively in a group of 2-4 peers (optional). 

Each module should take between 60-90 minutes to complete. A total of 6 PD clock hours for the entire course is suggested. 

All projects, activities, and content are directly applicable to educators (teachers, coaches, and administrators) working with K-8 students. At the end of the course, participants will receive a signed certificate of completion.

This course is recommended for elementary and middle school teachers who are new to computer science education.
